Long story. My workshops at Singapore Art Musuem has been canceled. Anyway, the "Mr Eggy" Paper Marche will appear at Clay Doodle Shop instead.
They are very easy to do. Materials required are
1) Newspaper tear into long strips
2) A plastic basin to hold the glue
3) Tapioca Starch
4) Boiling Water
5) Emulsion Paint
To make the glue, first pour half cup of starch into basin. Pour in less than 1/5 cup of water to disolve the starch. Pour in 1 cup of Boiling hot water and stir. The starch will coagulate into glue. It is very obvious when the starch cooks, because it will turn a clear and be very sticky. If you have poured in too much water, the glue will become too watery. So, be careful.
Theafter, apply glue on the strips on paper and start creating your artwork.
For painting, I recommend emulsion paint. Apply at least two coats.
Do wait for the your paper marche to dry first before applying the paint.
As emulsion paint is water based, it is easy to clean off. And does not have the yucky smell.
Estimate at least 2 to 3 days to complete your work.
It is fun. Watch out for pictures of my Mr Eggy.
