Children Birthday Party Polymer Clay Workshop

We were invited to a beautiful young girl's birthday party to conduct a polymer clay workshop. There were 7 kids in all, youngest was 3 years old. Especially liked the kids as they were one of the nicest group of well behaved kids I've met. All in all, we managed to teach them to do Christmas Tree Fridge magnet and Ladybird. Did not do the snow man because the swimming pool was just next too our tables.

Next moment I realised, they were all in their swimming costumes, wadding in the pool.

I hope they enjoyed the session as much as I did. Gave the birthday girl my only set of Snowman, 4 Ladybirds (1 mother and 3 kids) and the Christmas Tree.

A happy birthday to you, little girl. Cheers. If you see uncle at the shop, ask me for a polymer clay birthday cake. (BTW, what type of cake would you like. Uncle will make a 3cm tall birthday cake for you.)

Cheers
Uncle Raymond (Much much older than all the kids at the party. Sob sob.)

Gek Poh and Yuhua Community Centre Classes

Have finished conducting two classes over this weekend 28 Oct and 29 Oct. Very tiring but rewarding.

For the Saturday classes, one of the students made buttons without me prompting. Another student brought along some polymer clay pendants made by kids. They were quite well done.

Sunday class was much bigger. More then 20 students. Some mishaps happened, e.g. One of the students art pieces went missing. I got to think of a way of avoiding this. Especially when the artwork done by students are very alike. Would like to apologise to the student who was very upset about it. My sincere apologies. But most importantly, you bring back the skills to create more items on your own. No one can take that from you.

For those students who would like to learn more complicated designs, as mentioned, please email me. raymond@claydoodle.com.sg

Very busy with getting the shop ready, so for those who I promise to get back to, please bear with me for the time being. 15 November 2006, is a big there for us.

Cheers.

Rose Earring Studs

Ain't these just adorable. The petals are thin. But as it is made using Sculpey Clay, it is very hardy. Just like a real rose, without the thorns.

It is very difficult to get the same effect using Fimo clay.

I love Sculpey.

BTW, the first pair was sold within 24 hours of putting up for sale. How cool is that. If you are interest in getting a pair from us, kindly drop me us an email at sales@claydoodle.com.sg

I just love doing marbled earrings. Cause they are so easy to do. Just choose the colors. Mix them up. Cut out the shapes. Done.

Polymer Clay Accessories Making Workshop (Yuhua Community Centre - 26 August 2006)

Good news, we have scheduled a workshop at Yuhua Community Centre on the 26th August 2006. The project title was suppose to be "Polymer Clay Jewellery Making”, but we ended up with “Polymer Clay Accessories Making Workshop”. The main reason the name change is because there’s already an existing class teaching people DIY jewelry.

We want to invite all those interest in the workshop to drop us an email or call YuHua CC directly. Do not miss this opportunity because the workshop fees are kept minimal, i.e. around $15 only for half day session. And please note, seats are limited, so, first come first serve.

Now coming back to the workshop details, we wanted something different from the previous workshops, it has to be easy to learn, not too tedious, yet challenging enough. And we finally came up with gold leaf polymer clay project.

It is really a cool project to work with. Imagine, working on real gold. Given that the gold leaf is very thin, it really isn’t very costly project to do. Take a look at some of the accessories that we have done up. They look very cool right. I especially like the egg shape choker. The egg shapes reminds me of those candy eggs that I used to love.

With a single piece of gold leaf, you can reproduce quite a number of pieces. It all depends on how much you want the gold leaf to break. (i.e. The “breakings” in the gold creates a very interesting pattern.)

At the workshop itself, we will be working on the focal bead. That is the round donut shape pendant (First picture above). There are quite a number of steps required. For those who are quick, you can proceed to produce an entire necklace of bead.

Remember, email us if you are interested in learning “GOLD LEAF FOCAL PENDANT” project. After the workshop, we will be distributing the tutorial sheets. Drop us a note if you want a free copy.

Cheers

Leave Vein Pendant

One of the senior instructor created this new pendant. She is the one who conducted the workshop at the Swarovski event recently. Am going to get her to create more such pieces. Ain't they beautiful. You can have them for a price of course. :P

Will put up more pictures as I get more of her art work.

BTW, for those international customers, you can make payment via PayPal.

Comunity Centre Polymer Clay Jewelry Classes

Good news, we have been invited to teach at the various Community Centres in Singapore. First one up at Yu Hua CC on 26 August 2006(pm).

That will give us plenty of time to brainstorm on what would be interesting to teach to the participants. If any of you are interested to join us, just drop as an email.

Want us to teach at a Communitty Centre closer to your home? Just email us to arrange. First contact person of that group gets to decide on the workshop project.

P.S. Our project code is "LEHOL3PCJM"

Big marble bead necklace

Nowadays, on the streets, you will see alot of lades wearing those big marble bead necklace. Quite funky, I'd might say.

Thought it would be fun to create some on our own. So, I commission two of our inhouse instructors to create some for me.

Just two pieces of clay and some marbling techniques. And "wah lah", one set of beautiful necklace ready for display.

Cool!! I love the pattern on this set of marble beads because it reminds me of one of those planet earth pictures taken from outerspace. The tag line, "I have the world stringed around my neck" comes to mine mind.

P.S. All items created are for sale. So, if you are interested to purchase them. Kindly email me. Got discount? Sure, but only for the first 10 customers who email us.

I am sure it will look lovely on ladies wearing those off shoulder blouse. :P

Cheers

Swarovski Create Your Style Event At Bugis

It great when everything is working for you. Managed to get enquires regarding our products from our online advertisement. And best of all, we get to conduct workshop at a Swarovski Singapore Event. My business partner and I have been busy getting the things ready for the workshop. We hope that customers will like what we teach. And we need to get all the feedback we can. Both good and bad feedback.

Do come take part in our workshop. Hope we can teach you a thing or two regarding Polymer Clay jewelry. 30mins for each project. $10 only. Materials all provided.

All of the sudden, all our stocks on hand have run out. It is a great feeling. But not as great as me missing Big Sweep first Price $2Million. Bought a couple of tickets. Can you imagine. Checking the big sweep ticket and find that your ticket's last number is 0 instead of 7. Sigh, it is 1 in a 10 million chance. Anyway, the money's not mine yet. Some day I hope.

Before I log off. Hope to see you at the event. Give me a call or email if you want to find out more about what we are going to do at the workshop at Bugis Junction.

Cheers and enjoy life to the fullest.

The Beginning of Clay Doodle Online Shop

It is very exciting to be able to start something that you can call your own. The excitement comes from creating deals which did not exist in the first place. Getting suppliers to trust you. And most importantly, getting you partners to buy into your business plan.

Operationally, it is tough managing a business while working full time. But everyone got to start somewhere.

Refer to this blog for more updates as my business venture progress.

Crash and burn, I will have no regrets. Succeed I must. I really must. The pressure is there. I can feel it. I can overcome it. Cheers.
